Simple Lawn Care Plan

If you want a nicer Bermudagrass lawn but don’t want any complicated programs, here is the easiest way to get started.

    1. Kill Existing Weeds

First, start by killing any weeds that you have so that your Bermudagrass lawn can grow. One of the easiest ways to do that is by spraying a weed killer that won’t harm the grass. After you kill the weeks, it does help if you can manually pull as many as you can.

    2. Spring Fertilizer for Healthy Grass

Next, you’ll want to apply fertilizer to help your grass grow stronger and greener. Using a weed control fertilizer will also help to prevent weeds early in the spring and fill in bare patches.

    3. Manage Pests and Disease

If you notice that there are insects harming your grass (like grubs or armyworms), you’ll need to treat your yard with pest control. This can be helpful with controlling a wide range of insects and pests, including spiders, ticks, fleas, and mosquitos.

It is also possible for your lawn to get disease or fungus that can kill your grass. To treat it, you’ll want to use a fungicide to help get it healthy again.

    4. Fertilize Every 8 Weeks

Once your lawn starts off strong, don’t stop yet! Keep fertilizing approximately every 8 weeks throughout the rest of the growing season. This will help to ensure the root system is strengthened against drought, greens up the lawn, and will help to crowd out weeds and fill in patchy spots.
